Script:

Once upon a time there was a baby girl who was beautiful and tiny and precious.

She had 10 tiny toes and curling fingers and the promise of freckles on a grown-up nose. She should have been the apple of their eyes—beloved, dearest darling, most important, their everything.

But instead, they hurt her as they faced their own struggles…and eventually all but forgot about her, leaving her to wander in the wilderness alone.

But what the girl didn’t know was that in the deep shadows there dwelled a wretched monster with sharp claws, snarling teeth, and an insatiable appetite for devouring unsuspecting little girls.

But the monster was also clever and when he found the girl he hid his true face from her, showing her only kindness and showering her with gifts. And because no-one had taught her that monsters are not to be trusted, she willingly followed and he stole her away.

Before she knew it, the girl was a prisoner—alone and helpless, with no way to escape. Instead of being someone’s precious treasure as she deserved to be, she was now someone’s possession. She was just a thing to be used until it was worn out, empty and unwanted.

Those were her darkest days. Robbed of innocence and forced to endure the unimaginable. Each night she sat alone and wept. And although weary, she called upon the last of her strength to utter the tiniest whisper of a wish. And she blew that wish from the tips of her fingers, out into the world, just hoping and praying somebody kind would have eyes keen enough to see it.

She wished for someone to challenge the monster, to send him away forever, and to see a girl who, though bruised and broken, was still worth fighting for.

“All I want is to go back to the beginning, to start over in a different fairy tale, where I, like every baby girl, am a real princess,” she said. “Only this time, I get to be treated like one.”
